Abstract

This essay examines the relationship between sex, love, and intimacy in contemporary homoerotic experience, articulating desire, culture, and imagination within analytical psychology. Using a theoretical-interpretative approach, it challenges normative assumptions linking affective bonding to psychic depth. It proposes that sexual encounters may constitute imaginal experiences in which body and soul intertwine, enabling symbolic expression and individuation. It concludes that casual sex, repetitive desire, and pornography can be understood as expressions of the psyche, calling for a clinical shift from moral judgment to an imaginal reading of desire.
